We have spent a lot of time bringing our pieces to life in environmentally conscious and ethical circumstances. We believe we have found the balance between designs that are produced from earth-friendly materials, while also being high-quality pieces that will stand the test of time. T-SHIRTS
All Soleil Soleil t-shirts are proudly made from 100% recycled cotton produced using a technology that is the first of its kind. Ethically made in Los Angeles, USA and screen-printed locally in Sydney, Australia. The fabric feels weighty and luxurious (like your favourite vintage t-shirt) and gets softer with every wear. Our t-shirts are a gender neutral size and shape—designed to be worn for decades to come.
Recycled Cotton
Our t-shirt factory collects the waste fibres usually discarded in the cotton production process and manipulates them in a brand new way. The result is 100% recycled cotton that is the first of its kind on planet Earth.
Ethically Made
Our factory keep a close relationship with partner factories and only does business with those who have ethical practices, do great work and with workers earning above the Los Angeles minimum wage.
These t-shirts are made without exploiting people or the planet.
Locally Printed
Our t-shirts are finalised locally in Sydney, Australia by a team who are leading the way in eco-friendly screen printing.
FABRIC
We are committed to only using natural fibres of outstanding quality, and our focus is on incorporating as many recycled fabrics as possible into our product range. In saying this, we acknowledge that creating any product from any material impacts the planet in some way and we encourage you to make an informed decision about your purchase. We hope the following information helps you to do so.
BCI Cotton
Our resort wear and accessories are made from ‘BCI’ certified cotton. Cotton certified by the Better Cotton Initiative is grown in a way that protects and restores the environment, while also improving farmers’ livelihoods. We are proud to use BCI cotton wherever possible.
Organic Cotton
Our pareos are made from 100% organic cotton. Along with all the benefits of traditional cotton, the organic variety is made without the use of chemicals, so the crops replenish and maintain soil fertility. Unfortunately organic cotton is still not perfect; producing the organic crop uses more resources, like land and water, than conventionally grown cotton. We’ve done a lot of research into the differences between organic and traditional cotton and there are a lot of conflicting opinions. Although there is no simple answer, in our opinion organic cotton is a slightly more sustainable option, so we have chosen to use it wherever possible.
Recycled Cotton
Our t-shirts are made from 100% recycled cotton, produced in Los Angeles, USA. We are super excited about this, and look forward to incorporating more of this wonder-fabric into our range in the future.
Linen
Linen is made from flax plants, a plant which grows without the need for fertilizer or pesticides. This means it is a renewable resource, one that is fast growing and can be produced without damaging the environment.

For our debut collection ‘Lemonade’ we have partnered with Bush Heritage Australia—an independent not-for-profit that buys and manages land, and also partners with Aboriginal people to conserve the magnificent Australian landscape and our irreplaceable

Tags & Marketing Material
Our swing tags and printed marketing material are made from recycled and eco paper, and can be recycled via your curbside recycling bin.
Cotton Tote Bags
Soleil Soleil orders are shipped in custom made, 100% cotton tote bags. Please use this bag instead of single-use plastics for your shopping and groceries. (They also make great beach bags). If you don’t have use for this tote, please let us know in the checkout notes and we will happily package your order without one.
Sustainable Packaging
Our custom branded garment bags are made from material that is 100% compostable and biodegradable. When they are no longer needed they can be disposed of in your home compost bin.
Sustainable Shipping Materials
Soleil Soleil orders are shipped in a variety of different mailing bags and boxes, depending on the size of your order.
Small-sized orders are shipped in reusable, compostable cardboard mailers made from 100% recycled materials. Medium-sized orders are shipped in boxes made from 100% recycled cardboard, secured with recyclable packaging tape. Large-sized orders are shipped in reusable, compostable satchels.
CARE
The most sustainable thing we can do is to make intentional purchases, and care for those purchases thoughtfully.
Unfortunately Australia ranks number two in the world for textile disposal. The average Australian buys about 27kg of textiles per year and, incredibly, disposes of about 23kg per year. This has to change. We, as consumers, have the power to make a huge impact on these figures by first shopping thoughtfully, and then by making sure to take loving care of our purchases and make them last. Then instead of disposing, make sure to repair, up-cycle or swap clothing and textile products to keep them in use for as long as possible.
REPAIR
We want Soleil Soleil products to last a lifetime and we’ve done everything possible to produce the most high quality, thoughtfully designed pieces we can—but sometimes things go wrong. If they do, we’d love to help where we can.
If you've cared for your item correctly, and it still hasn’t held up to your life’s requirements, you can send it back to us for free repairs. If you’d prefer to make the repair yourself, we can send you the appropriate supplies. You're buying something that's made to last and we want you to be happy and to love using your Soleil Soleil pieces as much as possible, for as long as possible.
STILL WORKING ON IT
We're not perfect, but we're working really hard, constantly researching and trying to do better. We want to be super transparent with you about both the amazing things we're doing to decrease or offset our impact, while still informing you of the inevitable resources and energy used to produce our designs.
